Most larger healthcare organizations have a Chief Information Officer (CIO), the executive leader responsible for developing the overall technology strategy and setting standards for the technical environment to make sure the computers, servers, and network infrastructure meet the needs of the organization. In healthcare, this includes making sure that security, stability, recoverability, and availability of systems are maintained to support electronic healthcare records and business office environments.
The CIO is also responsible for working with the executive team on long-term planning of the organization by identifying opportunities and designing and implementing the technology required to achieve the long-term goals - increasing effectiveness and quality of patient care while decreasing operating expenses and liabilities.

Introducing the vCIO
The Virtual CIO (vCIO) is the assigned MMIC Health IT expert who is both familiar with your business needs and your technological environment. And to make it affordable to the organization, the vCIO is not a dedicated full-time resource. The vCIO works with the practice administrator at key times of the year, aligning with executive planning meetings and budget preparation. We will develop a three-year Technology Roadmap that will allow you to plan for your computer, server, and network infrastructure projects and expenses, as well as anticipate any new technologies that will need to be implemented. These medium and long term plans will be incorporated as part of your overall IT services with MMIC Health IT.
